Huguet de Can Feixes Brut Nature.

Aged Reserva cava.

Can Feixes estate, proprietary vineyards located in the foothills of the Upper Penedès region, the Alt Penedès. Denomination of Origin DO Penedès.

We only use our own grapes, which are hand-picked, with a selection of the best grapes in the vineyard and a further selection at the bodega. The first must is obtained from the freshly picked grapes using a gentle pneumatic press. The must is then filtered by static decanting, before fermenting the clear must in stainless steel tanks.

56% Parellada, 23% Macabeo and 21% Pinot Noir.

6 months in stainless steel tanks followed by a minimum of 30 months in our underground bodega.

Serving temperature 6-8ºC. Ideal as an aperitif wine, but can also be served throughout most meals. If stored carefully, best enjoyed for up to 2 years after the date of disgorgement as indicated on the back label.

About Can Feixes.

On the slopes of the mountains that separate the comarcas of Penedès and Anoia, in the extreme north-west of Alt Penedes on the high lands of Cabrera and Mediona, the Can Feixes estate goes quietly about its business of respect for tradition and terroir.

Can Feixes is a family business, with an eye to the long view. Limited production enables us to respect our convictions about the responsible use of our land and its wider environment. The intense care required to produce wines of the highest quality and character may limit our scope for growth, but it accords perfectly with our beliefs about this landscape of which we act, briefly, as stewards for generations to come.

Here, at an altitude of 400mts, the vines are subject to more extreme thermal conditions which result in a slower ripening of the fruit. This yields grapes of greater concentration with a more harmonious, velvety constitution.

The soil is chalk clay and quite rocky, but with certain capacity to retain water. Together, climate and soil might be seen as adverse limiting factors. In fact, they are anything but. The combination results in a lower yield, but of grapes with a singular character and exceptional quality. It also lends itself perfectly to the cultivation of the ideal varieties of Parellada, Macabeo, Malvasia de Sitges, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Pinot Noir and petit Verdot. From these, and exclusively from our own vineyards, we produce a range of finely crafted wines and cavas.
